The University of Parma took part in the IV Congresso Internacional da EEAP: Perspectivas Globais da Enfermagem para os Desafios do Milênio, organised on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of the foundation of the Alfredo Pinto School of Nursing (EEAP) of the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). The event was held under the official patronage of the University of Parma, highlighting the University’s commitment to promoting initiatives of international relevance.
The congress, which brought together academics, professionals, and students from different countries, represented an important opportunity for discussion and reflection on the trends of contemporary nursing at a global level and on the challenges that the nursing profession is called upon to face in the new millennium.
In this prestigious context, our faculty member Antonio Bonacaro, Associate Professor in Nursing Sciences, actively participated by contributing the Italian and Parma University perspective.
His presence made it possible to strengthen teaching and research collaborations with Brazilian colleagues, with whom ongoing and developing joint projects focus on advanced training, clinical simulation, and digital health.
“Taking part in this event,” stated Prof. Bonacaro, “means not only celebrating the long and prestigious history of the Alfredo Pinto School of Nursing, but also laying new foundations for an increasingly necessary international dialogue in nursing education and research. Only through exchange and global cooperation can we respond to common challenges and promote a nursing profession capable of innovating, including, and improving the health of our communities.”
The participation of the University of Parma in the congress is part of the University’s broader commitment to the internationalisation of teaching and research, with particular attention to the development of global competencies and the strengthening of academic networks that contribute to safer, fairer, and more sustainable healthcare.
