The increasing number of retractions of scientific articles, the obvious "waste" in research, misconduct along with the spread of questionable and often harmful practices, have focused the attention of the international scientific community on the need to promote research ethics and integrity by enhancing principles and practices that strengthen rigor, transparency and trust in the scientific process and the resulting results.
The primary goal of the "Research Ethics and Integrity" course conducted by Dr. Sally Louise Williams, MSc in Clinical Trials, is to provide a sound theoretical and practical foundation for understanding and critically applying ethical, scientific, and legal standards in all phases of research involving human participants.
The course is interactive: exercises will be conducted on actual cases of research ethics and integrity violations to stimulate critical thinking and develop the ability to make thoughtful decisions to act in the best possible way in complex real-world situations.
The in-person course is conducted in four sessions of approximately 3 hours each for a maximum of 12 hours and will be attended by up to 16 learners. You must attend all four sessions to obtain certification.
