Where we are
Integrated Bio-tech complex Building B floor -1 Via Volturno 39 - 43125 Parma
What we do
Main Lines of Research
- Evaluation of antimicrobial, antiviral and immunomodulatory activity, in vitro, ex vivo and/or in vivo and structural characterization of synthetic peptides representative of human serum protein sequences, particularly antibody-derived, and their derivatives
- Metabolomic analysis of phenotypes, whether or not associated with pathology, of Candida albicans cells by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging and subsequent identification of possible hot spot targets of new antifungal agents
- Development of novel integrated biological control strategies and new drugs for the treatment of vector-borne diseases based on toxins produced by yeasts (killer yeasts) and peptides derived from them or yeasts engineered to produce siRNAs capable of interfering with insecticide resistance
- Studies on the ecology fungal and bacterial ecology in endodontic infections and evaluation of the inhibitory activity of antimicrobial peptides against oral microbial biofilms
- Characterization of the activity of novel carbonic anhydrase inhibitors selective for enzyme microbial
- Photodynamic effect of lasers against etiologic agents of oral cavity infection diseases
