The main functions of the Commission include:

• guarantee the efficiency and full operation of the research facilitiesand the large instrumentation;
• optimize the management of orders and administrative procedures related to research;
• fostering collaboration between laboratories and the transfer of technical and methodological expertise;
• promoting the integration of basic, preclinical and clinical research;
• strengthening relationships with PhDoctoral Schools, with other departments of the University, and with national and international research institutions.

A particularly important activity promoted by the Commission is the organization of the Research Day of the Department of Medicine and Surgery (DIMEC), an annual day dedicated to young researchers. During the event, the most recent results of research activities are presented, fostering interdisciplinary discussion and sharing of scientific experiences.

The Research Commission meets in plenary session at least once a year, while individual Working Groups meet periodically on their own in relation to the activities to be carried out. Currently, the Commission is structured into seven Working Groups (WGs), named internally:

• GL1: Organization of the Research Day and Welcome Day
• GL2: Continuous networking between laboratories and development of internal communication telematics channel
• GL3: Basic and Preclinical Research
• GL4: Clinical Research and Relations with University Hospital
• GL5: Relationships with Other Departments and Establishment of MedTech Course
• GL6: Core Lab and Large Instrumentation
• GL7: Training, Doctorates and Soft Skills

The Commission meets according to specific departmental needs and is accountable to the Director. Where present, minutes of the meetings may be requested, by those entitled to them, by emailing amministrazione.dimec@unipr.it
