Parma, April 14, 2026 - On Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23, the 13th National SINUPE Congress will be held in Piacenza, in conjunction with the 14th edition of the I Like... Pediatrics.

The event, sponsored among others by the University of Parma, represents an important moment of discussion and scientific update on pediatric nutrition issues, bringing together experts and professionals in the field to share up-to-date evidence, clinical experiences and future perspectives.

The initiative is chaired by Giacomo Biasucci, professor of Pediatrics at the DIMeC of the University of Parma and Director of the Department of Women's Health, Childhood and Adolescence of the Piacenza AUSL. nto

The scientific organization is entrusted to a qualified Scientific Committee and the SINUPE Board of Directors, chaired by Elvira Verduci, professor of Pediatrics at the University of Milan, with the support of the iDea Congress Organizing Secretariat and Provider.

The congress will address topics of topical and growing clinical relevance, including the relationship between diet and cardiovascular risk in childhood, the appropriate use and critical issues of

elimination and selective diets in pediatrics, and the role of nutrition in the infant in the development of immunity. The post-discharge nutritional management of the late-preterm, a complex area that requires a multidisciplinary and individualized approach, will also be explored. Ample space will be devoted to plant-based diets in pediatric age and the impact of the new LARNs (Reference Intake Levels of Nutrients and Energy for the Italian population) on clinical practice, providing useful tools for proper nutritional assessment. Special attention will be paid to autism and selective feeding, with a focus on clinical and management implications, and highlights in allergology, an evolving field.
