OMore than 140 scientific contributions from Europe and beyond to strengthen the future of nursing education. The initiative is promoted by the European Federation of Educators in Nursing Science (FINE) in collaboration with the University.

Parma, 13 February 2026 – On Thursday 5 and Friday 6 March, the Headquarters of the University of Parma will host the international conference FINE EUROPE 2026, entitled Strengthening Nursing Education for a Safer Tomorrow, promoted by the European Federation of Educators in Nursing Science (FINE) in collaboration with the University.

Held every two years, the conference represents one of the main European scientific events dedicated to nursing education and serves as a global platform for scientific dialogue and cooperation.

At the 2026 edition, organised and chaired by Antonio Bonacaro, Associate Professor of Nursing Sciences in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Parma and Chair of the Scientific Committee, more than 140 scientific contributions from Europe and non-European countries will be presented, focusing on strengthening the future of nursing education.

The conference will bring together professors, researchers, academic leaders and healthcare professionals from numerous universities and academic institutions. They will explore strategic themes for the future of the profession, including: governance, leadership and professional identity in nursing education; curriculum development, quality and innovation in teaching; interprofessional education and transversal competencies; and the humanistic, cultural and psycho-spiritual dimensions of teaching and learning.

The conference will open on Thursday 5 March at 9:00 a.m. with institutional greetings from Paolo Martelli, Rector of the University of Parma; Massimo Fabi, Regional Councillor for Health Policies of the Emilia-Romagna Region; Albertina Soliani, former Senator of the Italian Republic; and Michele Guerra, Mayor of Parma.

The conference aims to foster advanced scientific dialogue focused on the sharing of best practices, innovative educational models and strategies for the harmonisation of educational policies at the European level, while maintaining a strong focus on the global challenges facing contemporary healthcare systems.
