The Interactive Settorial Anatomy Lab represents an innovative teaching space dedicated to the study of human anatomy through advanced digital technologies and offers students a controlled, repeatable and accessible environment for anatomical exploration and guided learning.
The Lab uses the virtual septic table Anatomage Tableas an integrative tool to Human Anatomy teaching and professionalizing internship activities.
Through high-fidelity three-dimensional anatomical models derived from real-life acquisitions, students can perform interactive virtual dissections reproducing the traditional septic table experience in a secure and repeatable digital environment. The system allows progressive exploration of different anatomical planes, detailed visualization of vascular and nerve structures, and anatomoclinical correlation using numerous pathological cases.
The didactic approach fosters active learning, spatial understanding of structures, and integration of macroscopic anatomy, imaging, and clinical practice, improving student engagement and effective educational outcomes.
The lab activities are conducted under the guidance of professors and tutors and are integrated into Human Anatomy courses and practical exercises, in Department of Medicine and Surgery degree courses, including Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Orthodontics, numerous Health Professions degree courses and medical specialization schools.
Sessions include guided demonstrations, interactive virtual dissections, and supervised autonomous exploration activities aimed at understanding topographic relationships and anatomoclinical correlation.
The lab is also used as a support for individual study, allowing students to consolidate knowledge acquired during classes and prepare for assessment tests through active review of anatomical structures.
Access to the laboratory is allowed to groups of maximum 15 students per session.
During the class period, students access according to the roster and schedule communicated by the professors during the course of teaching activities.
During the exam period, the lab can be used for individual review: access is by reservation by sending an e-mail to the referring professors.
