What we do
Main lines of research:
The laboratory is responsible for managing and coordinating clinical trials in neonatology and pediatrics, defining the skills and guidelines needed to support clinical trials in the early years subject, developing nationally shared operational models, providing training activities, and involving children, adolescents, and their families in pediatric research. In addition, the goal of the laboratory is to promote access to the best available evidence on treatments and care of the infant, child, and adolescent by critically evaluating the results of scientific studies and coordinating clinical networks. The laboratory also promotes high-quality neonatal and pediatric drug research in Italy. The main lines of research include neonatology, pediatric infectiology, pediatric pulmonology, cystic fibrosis, pediatric allergology and immunology, pediatric endocrinology and diabetology, nutrition, obesity, artificial intelligence, and telemedicine.
Main equipment provided:
In the laboratory there are computers, multifunction printers and archives. Equipment dedicated to clinical research activities on patients is located in the care spaces of the Pediatric Clinical OU of the AOU of Parma.
